Joe Miller

Joe Miller joins the Dallas Mustangs with a wealth of coaching experience.  He has coached select basketball for the past 16 years.  His 10th grade Texas Tarheels team reached the final four of the C division in the Reebok Big Time tournament in 2005 playing at the varsity level. 

Joe’s wife name is Debbie and they have been married for 27 years, and have three children Brian, Jon & Jack.  Brian graduated from SMU on a Basketball scholarship in 2005; Jon is in 10^th grade at Marcus HS and Jack is in 8^th grade. Both Jon and Jack are on the path to following in their brother’s footsteps.   Joe has coached many players over the years that have gone on to play Division I, II and III basketball. 

 Joe attended Fredericktown High School in Ohio where he led the area in scoring his senior year and played College basketball at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where he met his wife. He also graduated with a technical degree from Control Data Institute in Cleveland, Ohio and is currently a Regional Manager for Canon U.S.A., Inc.

Joe really enjoys working with players to help them improve their skills and their understanding of the game.  He emphasizes the importance of working hard in the classroom and being a good citizen off the court. If you want to play at the next level, you need to take care of business in the classroom.  It does not matter how talented you are on the court, if you do not have the grades to get into College.

Joe’s philosophy is by exposing younger players to top competition, you position them to be successful at the high school level and give them an opportunity for early recognition by colleges.
